Priest Draw to Hueco

Leaving for Priest Draw today. Couldn't be more excited. I found out that a few other people from Vegas are going to be there too, so I might not be climbing solo then entire time after all. After the Draw it's off to Hueco Tanks for guide training. I'm really looking forward to going back. Although it will be too hot to climb I feel a connection to Hueco that I don't feel to other places. I spent a lot of time there, and the feeling is akin to that of going home after a long stretch. It will be good to go back, and even better this coming winter season.

In the meantime here's another video of the Draw.

  1. Sorry to say it here and not to Max directly, but that is SO invalid. Errosion exposes at least another quarter inch of that skirt per year. The problem starts on the wall, not the ground. Not to be the boulder police, but you can't upgrade something a V grade while literally standing on the ground for the first half of the climb and jumping from the ground into the crux move. Just saying.

  2. That's a good point. I wondered about that when I saw it. It looks like a hop into a tough move then over. Good call. I didn't think about the erosion. The salad is invalid.
